Over the years I have had the privilege of working with many individuals, and sometimes groups of individuals, who have survived a life-threatening event and are experiencing difficulties, often referred to as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Lives can be altered a result of tragedy witnessed or directly experienced. These events leave an impression on the mind that can be hard to get rid of; for some, it feels the trauma takes over and controls their existence. Therapy can help "neutralize" the images that seem cemented in the mind. Guilt is often a major component to the depression that follows trauma; we can work to eliminate the crippling guilt and put things in their right perspective.
Many people who have experienced events in which their lives or well-being were threatened have difficulties in relationships, work, sexual performance, sleep, and so forth. All of this is very treatable by a trained professional. Please call or email for more information; your struggles do not have to continue forever.
